Nichol Staying in Poland
W EST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue alumna Val Nichol will begin her fourth year of professional volleyball with LKS Lodz in Poland during the 2018-19 season. She joins LKS Lodz after her first year in Poland with Impel Wroclaw.
Impel Wroclaw was built for a high finish in the polish league this season, however, it was derailed by injuries as their team dwindled from 12 healthy players to eight by the year's end. Nichols will potentially be in a position to content for a championship with ÅKS Åódź as it was Poland's runner-up in 2017-18.
Previously, the Normal, Illinois, native enjoyed two successful years with Allianz MTV Stuttgart in Germany where she led her club to two gold medals and a silver during the 2016-17 season.
Nichol is a two-time All-American, two-time All-Northeast Region and All-Big Ten selection in her career as a Boilermaker. She also owns the most triple-doubles in program history with four spanning from 2013 to 2014.
